As we reflect on 30 years of milestones and iconic projects, our journey is far from over. At WE-EF LIGHTING Australia / New Zealand, our dedication to excellence has always gone hand in hand with our commitment to sustainability and innovation. While the first part of our story highlighted the achievements that brought us here, this next chapter focuses on how we’re shaping the future of outdoor lighting—pushing boundaries, protecting the environment, and creating solutions that inspire. From pioneering dark sky-friendly lighting to exploring the impacts of artificial light on biodiversity, we’re driven by a mission to light the world responsibly.
WE-EF LIGHTING Australia / New Zealand is proud to have products listed on the AEMO NEM loads table, reflecting our commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability. We were the first lighting manufacturer to have their products approved under ADSA (Australasian Dark Sky Alliance), demonstrating our leadership in dark sky-friendly lighting solutions. Now, an array of our luminaires—from bollards to wall mounts and streetlights—have also been officially DarkSky approved, helping to fight light pollution, preserve the night skies, and shine bright where it matters most. Our active involvement in continuous learning on the impacts of artificial light at night includes embarking on our own pilot study with the University of Melbourne to further understand these effects on humans and biodiversity.

We also believe in giving back. In October, we held our third annual company-wide volunteering day, where the WE-EF team had the privilege of spending the day at St Kilda West Beach. It was a rewarding experience to give back to the local community and support the vibrant coastal ecosystem.
As we celebrate our 30th year, our team is incredibly excited about our new home that is now under construction, set for a fresh face in early 2025. This expansion reflects our commitment to growth and our continuous drive to enhance our capabilities and services.
