As we mark three decades of outdoor lighting excellence, WE-EF LIGHTING Australia and New Zealand reflect on a journey defined by innovation, quality, and a passion for exterior illumination solutions. Since our inception in 1994, we’ve grown into an industry leader, thanks to our unwavering dedication to excellence and the support of our incredible team.
A Legacy of Innovation and Quality in Local Manufacturing Processes
For 30 years, WE-EF LIGHTING Australia and New Zealand have been synonymous with premium quality and durable outdoor lighting solutions. Assembled locally in Australia, our products are crafted using industry-leading lean cells focused on highly monitored performance metrics and quality processes. This meticulous approach ensures that every luminaire we produce meets the highest standards of excellence and reliability. Our local manufacturing capabilities allow us to maintain stringent quality control and swiftly respond to the needs of our clients, reinforcing our commitment to delivering the best in outdoor lighting solutions.
Milestones and Achievements
• 1994: WE-EF LIGHTING Australia and New Zealand was established, marking the start of our mission to deliver superior lighting solutions.
• 1999: Successfully completed our first major project, the Sydney Harbour Foreshore, setting a new benchmark in outdoor lighting.
• 2008: Introduced innovative LED technology to the local markets, leading the industry with energy-efficient lighting solutions.
• 2019: Received our first ADSA certification, pioneering dark sky-friendly lighting solutions.
• 2022: Undertook an independent carbon audit of our local operations, becoming 100% carbon neutral.
• 2023: Achieved further reductions in local carbon emissions by approximately 50 tons (a 75% reduction since 2020).
• 2023: Introduced advanced Precision Projection (GOBO technology) solutions to Australia/New Zealand.
• 2023: Commenced a pilot study with the University of Melbourne to understand the impacts of artificial light at night on biodiversity.
• 2024: Today, we proudly celebrate 30 years, having solidified our position as a trusted partner in the industry, committed to ongoing innovation and excellence.

• Piers and Coastal Applications: From longstanding installations along tough coastlines like Mornington Peninsula, Wellington NZ, and New Farm Riverwalk QLD to newer solutions for wildlife-sensitive coastlines like Redcliffe Foreshore, our projects demonstrate the robustness of our 5CE+Primer anti-corrosion system and marine-grade materials.
• Phillip Island Penguin Parade: Enhancing the visitor experience at this world-famous wildlife attraction while protecting penguins and shearwater migratory birds with PC Amber.
• Old Parliament House, Canberra: Highlighting the architectural beauty of this historic landmark.
• Federation Square, Melbourne: Showcasing our ability to blend functionality with aesthetics in a major urban precinct.
• UTAS Cradle Coast, Tasmania: Implementing wildlife-sensitive lighting solutions for a new era of environmentally responsible projects.
• Perth Zoo: Illuminating spaces to create an engaging and safe environment for visitors and animals.
• Parramatta Light Rail: A connected, environmentally considered and sustainable energy-efficient network of 276 RMC320 luminaires with presence sensing (motion detection) to dim up only when people are using the path
